What is the Cottsway Community Fund?
As a way to give back to the communities we work in we make available £20,000 per year through our Community Fund. With four different levels of funding available we give grants up to a maximum of £250 to Cottsway residents or members of their immediate family who live in their home to support learning and skills development, especially where this will increase employability. We can also give grants of up to £500 to individuals to fund projects which benefit the community. Groups can apply for a maximum of £2,500 to carry out community projects and up to £5,000 for environmental projects that directly benefit Cottsway’s customers.
The fund is available to new groups and projects, existing groups starting new projects or wanting to expand their services, groups that are led or managed by local people, groups and projects that encourage local people to get involved and those working with isolated people. The grant can be used to buy items of equipment, fund local events and one-off projects, training for the group to improve their services, printing and publicity, environmental projects and improvements. Individuals can apply for course costs, books and equipment to support learning and skills development.
Groups that want to apply for funding can submit the below application which is then reviewed by the Community Investment Officer and the Youth Forum. Once comments have been made applications are then taken to the Head of Housing for final approval. Below is the list of the projects we have funded this year
